    Name the Wax

Wanted to add a little better look to the new toy, till Ang comes down and we knock out the polishing and coating. (this thing has more nooks and crannies than a Thomas` English Muffin.) UHHHH

So washed, and decided to try something new.

So can ya tell what it is ???

I would guess one of the coatings only because you said you were trying something different.

Natty`s Blue, Midnight Sun or Souveran. I can`t tell for sure due to the limited nature of the picture.

I`m kiddin` of course. I have to be able to smell it two days after it`s been waxed to know for sure.

Yeah Steve, it`s Synergy. I had it 3 days after Detail Fest.

Al, I`m going to cat it, but Angelo is going to come down and help me knock it out. This thing is a bear as far as all the lines, and vents etc.

My biggest question now is what to put over it as far as a qd/drying aid.

Ronny my boy, from a guy that owned a flat black are I highly suggest you adopt the following:

    1. Touch the paint as little as possible. I purchased a master blaster and it was the single best sanity saver to date. You remember the black infiniti? It would swirl up looking at it the wrong way.

    2. Coat it with the something durable. My experience is with EXO v2 and Opticoat have both been positive. Until then, wash, permanon (no touch on or off) blow dry. Blot drips if any and your done. This gives you the best look, with the least maintenance and more time to pile the miles on it. No need for drying aids when the permanon is fresh.

As you already know, vette paint is a bear to correct and black showed everything. Gotta love that hard GM clear coat. Your new toy is a beautiful Black Beast. If it were me my goal would be to first-perfect it, then protected it and put the repeat of the process off as long as possible by protecting the paint with a touch sacrificial.

If you own it as apposed to lease it, I would also consider Xpel Ultimate PPF over the panels that face the wind when driving forward and the splat area behind the wheels. Also PPF on lights. Over kill is just about right-Right?

Enjoy it and please be safe.

Looks like a black `Vette` to me, but I am just guessing.

    Thanks Jeff.

Yeah, it`s going to get coated, but being old, and lazy I`m waiting for Ang to come down and help me. First though, I`m going to get windows tinted so I can correct it once.

The Xpel film that I have seen have looked tough with age, so I`m torn

You are a little out of my hood since you moved south. I can ask my installer for a good shop near you if you are interested. I would advise you that if you own it, wrap it, if not drive it like you stole it (but change the oil and maintenance items).

I would expect you would get 3-5 years out of the Xpel film. It is better than the 3M Venture or scotch guard at this point. Had Venture, it stained, replaced with Xpel and so far so good. actual still have scotch 3M in the splat areas. It will be replaced when it gets damaged or discolored.
