    Re: how do you dry?

My problems are exacerbated by not having enough time to wipe moisture off of the car before the vast majority of water merely evaporates. The fast evaporation still turns much of the surface into spots. Subtle spots, but none the less, spots, when Car is parked in sun. Even though the water from the softened house system sheets well from the finish.

I never, ever, wash in the sun, or at midday. I use a waffle weave MF towel which does a quick job of removing water, quickly-but-lightly rushing it over the entire surface of Car. But the MF actually does a better job, using softened water, when the towel has become dampened.

Combined with distilled water, the damp towel actually removes all of the soft water spots. I can not use a "dry towel" in my arid climate for a "final wipe", because finishes dry so quickly. I can use a detail spray, but this just becomes an additional step.

I would rather drive, than dry......

Waffle Weave Cobra Guzzler over the car, then the Metro Air Force Blaster to evacuate any remaining water.

I have been too. Here lately I`ve been getting water spots pretty bad. Might have to go Todd`s route.

I really like the idea of the CR spotless, but the cheapest one is $300 . Has anyone used the inline filters from AG or ACC? http://www.autogeek.net/deluxe-filter-system.html

    Most of the time:
    • Sheet the water off the car
    • MasterBlast first to get the major amounts of water and crevices.
    • WW Drying towels for the remaining minor stuff.

When I`m to lazy to pull out the MB:
    • Sheet the water off the car
    • WW Drying towels

i will admit, i was guilty of not using the "sheeting" method. i used this last weekend and it made a big difference! 85-90% water removed. then i followed up with a ww towel.

I use 2 of these, even though one works for the most part. Chinchilla Microfiber Buffing Cloth, 16 x 24 inches Simply lay down and glide across the surface, no need to add pressure. Works like a charm.

Clean chamois followed by clean microfiber to remove the trace amounts of water that aren`t soaked up. Follow up with an air compressor and hand held blow gun attachment to clear out water in the crevices.

Obviously the drying process is as important, if not more so than washing techniques...and its also true that touchless drying makes the most sense to prevent human error. If touchless drying isn`t practical in every case, then a damp (not dry) WW or MF towel work well when dampened with a product such as DG Aquawax or equivalent product. I use a combination of both.

I tried the "dry me a river" ww towel last weekend from the ragg co. OMG!! Hands down the BEST drying towel i have ever used! Flood rinsed the xterra, and it got every last drop. Very impressive.

Wow, those towels look identical to Adams Polishes towels. Hmm.....

    Re: how do you dry?

One waffle weave takes care of most of it, then back around with a microfiber or two (small car w/ no roof). Then a can of compressed air for the trim.

I have an Absorber, and it works as promised, but I find it a bit "sticky" and it slows me down.

This thread reminds me I have a cordless blower, will try that next time.

P.S. Where does one buy a "Dry Me Crazy" towel? Tried Amazon, Google, Autopia and a few others w/ no success finding it.
