Rainy Day Blues - 03-16-2007, 04:38 PM

Florida weather can be a bit frustrating too.
I had a bunch of work scheduled today that had to be postponed. The bad part was I had two guys working today and they weren't able to get anything done that I could charge for. In other words I payed them for their time but I made nothing.

I know it's all part of running a business and having employees. Making the decision to work or not for the day, can be tough when you are mobile. There have been many days where it was suppose to rain and I called off work only to have it rain for 15 minutes in the afternoon or it never even rains that day.

Call me a pessimist, but sometimes I feel like I can't win.

Can't really complain though. I had one of my busiest weeks ever.

Troy i feel your pain , but with sleet and snow coming down and almost getting hit by a van out of control as I was returning from the warehouse
rain ain't so bad and at least you don't have to shovel it either

Re: Rainy Day Blues - 03-16-2007, 06:12 PM

I knew you northern guys would feel my pain. Don't get me wrong, I would rather deal with rain than snow and if I knew it was going to rain, I could deal with it.

It's the not knowing what the weather is going to do that bugs me. I can tell you one thing, listening to the weather report doesn't help a lot of times here.

Half the time when there is a good chance of rain it does nothing but scare my customers from getting their car done.

Ha! We had a drought here. No rain for weeks. Had a full week booked, then the sky let loose. Rained HARD for 2.5 days straight. Had a wimpy day yesterday, made no money, today was nice, make little money. This week was a TOTAL LOSS.

Growing up with the horrible winters in the North and being stationed in the South with its unpredictable weather, I can definitely sympathize with you guys. However, the last few days here have been beautiful and I'm loving every second of it.
