No comment......lol
The trailer was just getting extremely over crowded. With me buying nothing but 5 gallon pails, along with my step ladders, canopy, supplies, pads, buffers, etc.......it was a mess. I have stuff lined up by a wall in the Den area, more outside line up on the deck, laundry room is now a retail store, plus, I had so much in my vehicle that my 3rd row seating SUV can only fit me.....lol
It was past due to upgrade to something better.....

That is quite alright. In this case swamped is good!! You may call after 10:30 a.m. I will be free anytime after that.

Most likely will rain tomorrow. LOL!!

Re: New Detail Trailer - 12-27-2006, 09:52 PM

It is a nice trailer; exactly like the one I opted out of when I had to replace my set-up last December after a complete and total loss due to theft. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

What detered me though was no side door, its unladen weight, and size. For me, a 4x6 enclosed better suited the locations and clients I service, yet still accomodated all the equipment I needed (albeit I had to do alot of custom fab work) -- water tank, reclaim tank, 5k generator, electric start PW, custom exhausts, compressor & tanks, hoses & reels, security system & anti theft device, central vac, materials, misc supplies & materials all fit neatly & snugly in their place. I keep my bulk products on a rack in my garage, filling up daily as needed (it's not often that I go through more than 2 gallons of any product in a day especially when using concentrated materials)

One note: I'll highly recomend spending the extra money for the electric brakes -- It sure saves bunches of wear & tear on my tow vehicle and I can't count how many folks out there are gratefull that I have them. Besides -- I know how ya'll drive in Texas!!

Can't wait to see pics of it when it's completed

Sorry to hear that you had everything taken.
I Actually like the trailer over the other ones.
I know there is more weight to it, but my SUV tows it like it not there. I runs at the same RPMs at a certain speed, as my 4x8. It feels more comfortable to pull. I can actually see it behind me. Whereas my 4x8, I could not see it from either side mirror or the rear view. Backing up with it was a pain. it was too narrow as well. the extra foot will come in very handy. I actually wanted a 6x10, but when I looked at them up close, they were gigantic.

Also, I like the added security the steel has over aluminum. I have seen many aluminum trailers vandalized, but cutting open the side with a knife.
As for a side door, It would not be as bad to put one in vs. an aluminim one.

But everyone has a different opinion and different taste in things.

Niiiiiice. I want me one so bad but being 6 foot 7 it'll be a pain gettin in and out. What that set you back?

I just noticed, theres no side door on that. You're gonna regret that. You can probably cut one out, frame it out and throw some hinges on and make it look like it came that way.

No side door....I know.....I wanted one, but it was going to take 3 months to get one in. I figured, since it was steel, that putting a door on the side would not be that bad down the road.

It ran $1750 plus TTL, which came to $1923 and some change...
I priced some used aluminum ones, and they ran about that. But I got a 3 year warranty with mine and know that it is new.....

Re: New Detail Trailer - 12-30-2006, 01:25 PM

Update....

Today I put up peg board, put on some reflective stickers(so I don't get hit again...lol) and put down the vinyl floor. (missing 2 pieces)

Peg board inside and my magnetic business cards on the door...

Checkered floor.......(1x1 ft squares)

Home Depot had a only 1 full pack of these left, plus a ton of loose ones. Didn't pick them up when I seen them. Figured they would be there the next day... WRONGO!
Went back and the pack was gone, along with over half of the loose ones. I was pissed...lol I needed 32, and they had 30 left, so I lightened up...ahah
Will have to go back later this coming week and see if they have more...

I am off in a few minutes to go to Lowes for shelves. Not sure if I want to make some or buy some......
