starting my mini buisness!

i finaly stocked up enough car products that i though id make it into a buisness. now i dont have a PC or shop vac so... yea, my prices are down there.

heres my flyer:

BASIC: Hand Wash Exterior, Complete Interior Detail and Vacuum, Shampoo Floor mats, Clean Windows, Door jams, Tires, and Wheels.
$60
PLUS: Basic + Hand Polish and Wax
$80
LARGE VEHICLES: add $10

i got some 12 gallon tubs from big lots (auto store wants $5 for a 5 gal?!?!) and some mini laundry hampers from target. once i put all my stuff in them i thought "damn i got a lota crap". *starts buisness*

Not realy sure if that guy is just being a d*ck or if the ability to recognize sarcasm has escaped me?

But your prices do seem high considering you wont be using a machine to get better results. Especially starting out, I think that you would want to keep your prices lower than norm to get a steady flow of clients in.

your prices are fine. Remember to be able to sell the VALUE of your service to your clients. And to know what you're talking about, how to properly do the job and why it needs to be done. That's selling the VALUE. Alot more to it then just having a bunch of supplies. But if you got the addiction, you're half way there.

I personally think if your prices are too low like what you mentioned above, it draws differnt peopel in. If you have competitive prices or even prices a tad above your competion int he area, you will find yourself with more work then you can handle. Let your work speak for itself! Value doesn;t mean cheapest price. Value means your best job for the dollar. Someone might payt $125 for a complete detal but the job is sub standard. If they would have conme to me for $40 more, they woudl have had professional results that last a good long time, wash after wash!

I detailed a car for a customer last week who had done some price shopping around with similar mobile detailers advertising on Craigslist. She said that even though they were cheaper, she felt more confident in my ability to do the job based on the information on my website and the pictures in the ad. As long as you present yourself in a professional manner then you should charge what you work is worth. Let other detailers fall over themselves trying to undercut you instead of it being the other way around. I haven't seen any detail shop that is worth going to that charges less than $80 for an exterior wash and full interior detail. Don't be afraid to charge what you are worth.
