I have a detail coming up in about 2 weeks. It`s a souped up white 350z and the car is going to be on a show the day after the detail. And since we all know that it`s fairly difficult to get that "WOW" factor on a white car (compared to dark colored cars) even after a good paint prep, I wanted to know if you fellow detailers have had nice results with certain LSPs on white cars.

Currently, I`m considering CG Creme Glaze or DWG under P21S 100% carnuaba. As the detail is mainly for the show, durability is not much of a concern...the WOW factor is - hence my choice for the glaze and carnuaba combo. :think2

Any comments and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I`ll be sure to post up some pics after the detail.

    Thanks!

I too am experimenting with different LSP for my PPW 350.

Below are some pictures of it with an pplication of Poorboys Ex, then a week later (right before the pics were taken) a coat of Meguiar`s #26 (i believe) high-tech yellow wax (carnauba). I think it came out pretty good. Soon I will be trying out hitting my car with PO85 on a black pad followed by Blackfire wet diamond. I`m sure that combination will look awesome.

While I haven`t had the opportunity to try it first hand, I`ve read on the boards here that Megs 16 looks really good on white.

RMG + 4Star UPP was the cat`s meow a while back.

Maybe top with PB White Diamond?

I think you have a lot of solid choices with white.

#16 looks pretty good on pretty much every color I`ve used it on. I`m partial to the candy shell look NXT 2.0 gives to white paint.

So, when there seems to be consensus, why not throw in the cat?

I don`t treat white cars differently from black. I set up my lighting so I can see the fine scratches and polish them out, remove my swirls and top with what I`ve found to be the most transparent and reflective wax I can lay my hands on. The car should look waxed the reflection should look that good before you ever put wax on it. EXCEPT when you`ve got a client who scratches the car up so badly that it wouldn`t be in their best interest because cutting it every time would leave them needing a paint job - fill and glazes were invented for people who do bad maintenance.

When it comes to making any car really shine, polishing not waxing, is IMHO the thing that sets them apart. Lot`s of waxes work well. Using a poly then coating it with a carnuba if you find a combination that works can be dazzling.
