Gonna attept to remove my swirls this weekend! - 03-10-2010, 08:06 AM

I have a question?

I am going to try ssr2.5 with an orange edge2k light cut pad with the pc at 5.5.

Can I follow up the ssr2.5 with ssr1 by hand??? Or do I need to apply ssr1 with a finishing pad?

Use the 1 with a finishing pad on pc. If the hazieness is not clearing enough, bump it to the equivelent of a white pad, then something like PWS on a finishing pad.

you can but it would be a whole lot more work than using a finishing pad

I am going to use my pc to attempt to remove my swirls tommorow! I only have an orange edge 2k double sided pad. So how does this sound? SSR2.5 with orange pad at setting 5.5. Followed by SSR1 with orange pad on setting 2. Next SSR1 by hand with microfiber pad. Then nattys regular by hand.

I sure hope you don't plan on doing this whole job with 1 pad.

You need to step down both in SSR & pad.

ok thanx!!! I had just finished ssr2.5 the entire car 2 times! I must say I am impressed I eliminated roughly 80 percent of the swirls Now on to the SSR1 by hand. Any advice by hand? I am using a microfiber applicator.

Update on my progress . Clayed, SSR2.5 twice on every panel, SSR1 by hand. Topped with nattys. Car looks 100 times better woohoo. 80 percent of swirls eliminated Very happy with the results. I am going to order a polishing pad and finishing pad and will use that next week on the car to see if i can eliminate a few more swirls

Here are a couple pics. Took the car out for a joy ride, so it got a little dusty , oh well. Don't mine the bad camera lol. I also painted the brake calipers red last week. Bold N Brite x 3 on the tires. I wanted a wet look today
