This too is what I would do. You will like the SSR 2 and SSR 1 if you haven't yet used them. You can really work that stuff for a long time and it finishes down very glossy.
I would think though that you might not get the correction out of the SSR 2 unless you do a whole bunch of passes. You may end up needing SSR 2.5 or something similar but remember to try the least aggressive method first. Have fun.
