Question about sealants

I've been using EX & EX-P topped off w/Natty's for a few years now, & loving the results. My question is this: since my cars live in the garage & only come out on nice weather days, what would happen if I skipped using sealant? I know that sealants last longer. Would the only problem be that I'd have to clay & wax more often?

I know thats you mcate/tbird dude- don't you dare change your detailing practices. I promise there may be a few detailers that might know a few things you don't because they do it for a living but there are zero on this forum that can make a car look better than you do- they might be as good- but none better- don't change a damn thing. No disrespect to any one on here because you got some seriously skilled and knowledgeable detailers on here that know their stuff ----but- --but your cars ar museum quality dude. TrakPak here. luck

IMO nothing would happen. Sealants serve two purposes. They are very durable to weather conditions, in your case its not really needed, and they are high gloss, which in your case is what you are looking for.

If what you are asking is can you just top off your car with a coat of wax instead of removing the sealant from a previous application, the answer is yes!

I do it all the time.

My cars are garage queens meaning they are inside every night. They are both daily drivers but I only apply sealants about every 3 months. During that time I apply wax for protection and shine!

Since your cars are only fair weather drivers you could go every 6 months IMO for sealing again and IMO that's over kill for your cars.

I go through my wash, dry, clay, polish, glaze, seal, wax, wax, wax procedure every spring in preparation for show season. Then I just keep the cars up with QD through the summer, & occasionally throw on another coat of wax. When I recently detailed the Mach I doubled up on EX before multiple coats of Natty's Red. I've kinda been wondering if the shine would suffer any if I skipped the sealant step & just used wax each spring?

I think some, but not that it would be noticeable to anyone but you.

I've recently polish out my Camry and then instead of sealing, I put on coats of Nattys Red, two coats one weekend and then two coats every weekend for almost a month. The car stood up like a diamond, wet looking more than anything

With my jet black BMW I only used sealants and two to three coats over a few weeks. The car look shiny but not that wet look, more mirror like to me.

That's what I like the combo of sealant and wax

Well then, it sounds like I don't want to alter my procedure. I love the wet look as well, & if the sealant adds to that then I'll continue to use it. Thanx!
By the way, I was happy last spring with Black Hole, EX, & Natty's Blue on the red Mach 1. But replacing Blue with Red this time made an incredible difference.

Glaze is a given on any of my cars, sometimes when I go out for a weekend drive. I just put a quick coat of BH glaze on for the POP factor!
