How much Bold N Bright do you use? - 11-09-2007, 07:58 PM

Wondering if I am using too much.
I spray until the tires are totally wet and dripping.
How much do you use?

it really depends on the look you are trying to achieve and how much Bold n Bright you have

I prefer to wipe it around after a light spritz for a black bold look, but not too glossy ...if you prefer a wet glossy look, then just spray away and walk away

I use the 16 oz. spray bottle that BnB comes with and spray each tire with three pumps while moving the spray around the circumference of the tire. I then use the OXO body brush to distribute it and clean the tire. I then wipe off the excess with a terry towel. I'm guessing I use less than 2 oz. to do four 225/60/16 tires. The tires are done each wash job and are relatively clean to start with.
Leaves a clean, matte finish which is what I happen to like. For me, shiny is for paint.

I apply tire dressing to the applicator, then wipe on the tire.

Same here...... no overspray, runs, drips, or errors.

It seems that I use BnB in a totally different way than many/most of you.
The ways mentioned probably give you the results you want, but aren't you missing the cleaning qualities of BnB?
If you just spray it on or wipe it on you have applied a dressing, but didn't do much cleaning of the tire.
That's one of the things I really like about BnB.
Where I used to clean the tire with an APC and then apply a dressing, I can now clean and dress the tire in one step.
Looks good, works good, it's easy. Three things I really like.

Suzanna

Why are you asking this? is it because you feel like you are wasting product? or that you are getting sling on the car?

No sling but then I don't drive the car when it is dripping.
So I guess I was wondering if I was over doing it, unnecessarily.
Or maybe it is necessary.

I don't think that there is a wrong way to apply BnB I spray on so that it coats the ride even, then let dry completely...I like the shiny tires more than anything...so the wipe down to buff is not something I would do

I agree Charles, many people miss out on it's true abilities and the saving of an extra step

I don't always use the cleaning abilities. If I am washing the car the tires get a good scrub before applying the BnB. Yet when I am doing a wipe down with Spray-n-Wipe, the cleaning abilities are appreciated.

I never knew about its cleaning abilities...I thought it was just a dressing.

Shows you how much I pay attention. I usually spray a tire down with an APC and scrub it with a brush, then pour the BNB into a cup and apply it with a brush.

I like beer. On occasion I will even drink a beer to celebrate a major event such as the fall of communism or the fact that our refrigerator is still working.

I've got an old, cheapy microfiber towel that I keep in a ziplock bag and just keep re-using. I fold the towel to a nice size, apply a few drops to my towel and rub it on the tires.

By re-using it and always storing it in the ziplock...it always stays plenty saturated so there's always plenty to wipe it with. It seems like less mess and less waste using it this way. Of course my hand gets a little greasy from the rag...which is why I save this step for last.

I even went to the extreme of having a nice piece of plastic custom cut to the dimension of my rims to use as a cover so I could spray it on...but just found that wiping it gave me better results.
