So I bought my first rotary...the Simonize rotary.... - 08-01-2009, 03:48 PM

...from Canadian Tire, on sale (reg. $99). Got it home, mounted up my Lake Country backing plate and LC orange pad, grabbed some SSR2 and tested it out on the roof...

First impressions...not too heavy. Nice variable (stepless) speed dial, similar to my PC orbital.
Lots of power and lots of speed available...never went past 4.5.

What I wasn't prepared for was the fling!! Sheesh! I'll need an apron...
Another thing I noticed was just how much BITE it had with the LC orange pad! Maybe I wasn't using enough SSR? But the sucka was quite a handful...

But anyhow, I ran the polisher for maybe 2 minutes, set it down to wipe and check my progress...
Pick up the polisher, and it's dead!!
Waited a few minutes, and it works again...
Did another pass, nothing strenuous, set it down, and it dies again!!!

I return it and get my money back...POS!!!

One good thing about Canadian Tire, is they have the best return policy I've seen...

Suffice it to say, I'll be saving up for a Makita...
