My initial thoughts on the Flex DA

Wow. That should sum it up. Less vibration, quieter, loads more power compared to a PC. Granted, I have only used it on a very small portion of the roof so far, and I haven't really kicked it up yet but man does it run like a dream so far. I know I am late hopping on the Flex bandwagon, but if you gotta get a polisher, the Flex seems like it is the way to go. Hopefully I can give it a full testing tomorrow.

I have not had my pc long, but the vibration makes my hands hurt. I got some padded palm gloves that helped alot, but since hearing all the rave about the flex i may have to look into this option. U got any of your truck pics yet JP.

I've actually had a friend in the business try it and hate it. He's a good detailer too. I really don't know how you can hate that machine.

No - I am thinking about taking it to a body shop guy I know and letting them do some wetsanding and hit it with the rotary. Anything to get rid of them at this point....

JaredP, does the case get hot similar to the PC? Do you "hold" the Flex at the "head" (really hard to describe this in words - hope I get the across)?

It's almost what I would call a bell housing (sort of like on a stick shift). It is the gray area. I don;t normally touch it. Just happened to touch it one day and it was warm (hot, actually). The ergonomics on the Flex are great. Much better than the PC, although I haven't got accustomed enough with it to one-hand it yet.

Yes he does. It's a Makita and according to him all other rotary's suck in comparison.

Different strokes. I would much rather use my DeWalt than a Makita but I won't go as far as to say Makita sucks.

As an added note he uses the PC 7424 all the time too and would rather use it than the FLEX.

That's the part that doesn't make sense to me. Performance aside, the FLEX has a better feel to it especially if you're used to using a rotary.

As big a fan as I was of the Cyclo, there's really no comparison. The flex is easier to use, the Flex is lighter and more maneuverable and I feel that it could correct more defects than the Cyclo. I don't have a Cyclo anymore to do a head to head test, so I am going from memory here. Also, I haven't really put the Flex up to a tough task yet other than my waterspot problems.
