Santa's Sleigh Needs Buffin' - 12-25-2009, 01:12 AM

And he brought me the best tool for the job. This is my brand new, just out of the box Makita 9227C.

Here it is with the Lake Country 6" backing plate.

Check out this nifty little carrying bag that comes with it.

And it fits perfectly in the cabinet next to the dying Griot's Random Orbital. I got almost two years of real hard use out of the Griot's machine and while I am sad to see it die, I more than got my money's worth out of it. I will be keeping it for a while and see if I can fix it.

Congratulations OCDinPDX. Enjoy the Makita. Did you find any new pads to go along with the new buffer?

Mine came with the bag and backing plate plus a polishing pad and a compound pad.

Since I do all my detailing at home on my own cars I doubt that I will ever use the bag.
I put my new 9227 in the cabinet with all the other polishers don't need the bag.

Bart...I always keep my machines in their boxes but the bag was so much nicer than the box that I tossed it.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I gave it a small test yesterday and was amazed at the heat that it generates. It really does amazing correction, though and I can't wait to get my car looking great come springtime.

Those are great machine's I have been using them for 15 years. The only problem with them is that electronic trigger switch goes out after awhile. It's $60.00 to get it fixed. other than that you can't wear them out

I've been testing out this buffer and so far, I am in LOVE with its ease of use and its capabilities. I can't wait to try it out on a customer car.

makita buffers rule in my opinion . I have been using them for 15 years. However I just purchase the competition model Hitachi and I might like it a little better

You suck, I didn't get a carry bag with mine

You should LOVE it though, I know I love mine.

I finally got the chance to try this out on my pickiest customer's car (black Acura TL) and I must say I am still falling head over heels for this buffer. I can't wait for summer and a full correction job.
