Cool NEW MEGUIAR'S G-110V2 DA Polisher - 12-01-2009, 08:21 AM

The unveiling was at SEMA and some say its as good as a flex. Any people gonna make a purchase and see how it stands up? They also say its much better than a PC, I might bite and see what the prices are. The flex is tried and true at this point so will it have to make room for the G110v2? any ideas or input...

On MOL and TID forums Kevin Brown has posted a review of this DA. I have a new Griots 2ng generation coming for christmas and I probably need my head examined but put my nane in for a pre-order of the Megs g100v2. Paul S

I wonder why Meg's used the G110v2 name? I mean the G110 was less dramatic improvement over the G100 and the v2 seems to be a lot different yet just rates a v2.

Is this the DA with the cruise control? I saw that one at SEMA. It was a sweet machine. A nice mid point between the PC and the FLEX as far as price goes.

I wouldn't put it up there with the FLEX unless the backing plate is gear driven. If I remember correctly, it will still stop spinning if you grab on to it and just jiggle like the PC. You may not be able to slow it down, but if you can stop it from spinning then you lose effectiveness. The FLEX is entirely gear driven in the spin and the jiggle, so there is no slowing or stopping that machine.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that. So many other people wanted to play with it that I didn't really get a chance to test it out. I do recall seeing people grab onto the pad and not get a broken wrist from it, so I'm inclined to believe you can stop the spin.

Yep That's the one. I chose it over a flex because of not having a forced rotation. I also have a makita. So in reality I have more machines then I need for my "hobby". Paul S

I think you are right like you I have a Makita 9227 and a PC so would not buy a slightly better DA.
If I need to do serious paint correction the Makita will outperform the new DA and once I get it as good as I can with the Makita I can jewel it with my PC. I will not be buying a flex or a PC on steroids.
