My friend has one...I'll see what he has to say.

orbital or rotary?

orbital might be very interesting.

It's an orbital. I've seen it, just never used it. Might see if he can bring it over tomorrow and I can give it a whirl (pun intended) on my rear license plate garnish. It's fairly swirled because it's impossible to get a 6" pad in there.

I have one, I thought it would be good for tight places and spot compounding - but , I might as well gave that money to Willie the wino. It is an overpriced, underpowered piece of crap. The late Billy Mays should be selling them for $19.95 and throw in the magic micro fiber towel, but wait, if you order now - you'll get the pad kit, another micro fiber towel etc etc.

PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY! This product sucks, I'm going to try to sell it at my Oct yard sale to some desperate housewife as a marital aid.

How much are you wanting for it? For yard sale price, I'll buy it from you.

Bobcat was'nt kidding, This tool really is a piece of crap!! I had three of these shipped to me and after the third one I chock it up as a total loss as I am done screwing around shipping back and waiting for shippment etc.

The first on took a crap after polishing one(yes 1) headlight lens.

the second arived in a perfectly straight box but had a bent shaft.

so the third one arrives and I use it about twenty minutes and it shut off, the only way to run it is to push and hold the on / off switch really hard.

I had tried to be objective and give this tool a fair shake but I have to say steer clear of it.

Wow...I am a bit astonished to hear the 3" buffer is such a piece o' crap. My 6.5" is still going strong a year and a half later.

I'll just get a Makita and a 4" backing plate.

My 3" Griots has not given me any problems and has been a real help for those spots that a larger orbital can't reach. As to power, it's a small unit - I don't expect the same torque as a larger buffer. Right tool for the right job and all that. So far it's done everything that I need it to do. They are not all defective - plus they do offer a replacement guarantee. Since I have not had to replace this one, I have a better opinion of them overall. If I had to replace three of them, I might not.
