First Welcome to DC
The use of a wool pad is the most aggressive way of correction possible.

I will assume that whomever is doing this is trying to remove heavy amounts of oxidation caused by the salt water

I don't mean to be a turd but spelling is important. What is it you are trying to ask?

I use WOOL pads on nearly every boat detail I do. My pads of choice are the Four Star Avenger pads. I also keep some of their Aggressor pads on hand for tough oxidation.

Considering his name means crazy fish in Spanish. I will assume that he lives in a coastal town where English is a secondary language not the primary. Personally I think he did fairly well for someone trying to spell phonically.

To answer your question, I believe he is asking why the local detailers are using wool pads and what is the benefit

Like already said wool pads work better at getting rid of oxidation on boats. Gelcoat is a lot harder than clear coat. I also use Four Stars wool pad. Thier aggressor pad and heavy cut is awesome on heavy oxidized boats.

This was the only thing said that could have been taken wrong and I see nothing wrong with pointing out bad spelling. If that's "eating someone up" then they need to get a little thicker skin.

If the spelling is because you aren't good with English that's one thing, but if it's because you did it on your Blackberry and were too lazy to fix bad spelling then you deserve a little verbal abuse. Get over it.

Oh and welcome to DC.

Sorry. It just bugs me how overly sensitive people can be on here. Makes people scared to post and not just the new guys.

Wool works great on boats, check out 3m's double sided pads....3 different grades from compounding to polishing.....
