Reddwarf I know you're just joking but on a more serious note, the problem really is the fact that it is a huge issue and almost everyone is just saying "I'm staying out of it" for fear of losing their seat in office. The bottom-line is that someone, sometime or another, is going to have to stand up and start making changes. And not the 2008 "Scam" uhum... excuse me I meant "Change" in the White House, but a real change in our government to close our borders. We have a need for a law like the proposed one in SB1070, but first things first, we need to secure our borders to prevent anymore illegals from getting in.

The way to fix this is not easy because it starts with calling our own citizens lazy, selfish, prideful and hypocrites.

Kids today do not see anything great about actually working, I mean sweat my arse off type work. Like picking crops, bussing tables, mowing lawns and washing dishes.

We have MTV and reality shows to thank for that. They want an Escalade, the latest gadgets and designer jeans.

So young people need to know what real work is and that there is nothing wrong with the above jobs mentioned. You can't solve problems by starting at "E" and trying to work back to "A" or skipping ahead to "Z". Start at the root and work our way up.

Mexico then needs to clean its act up. Put your own fires out before you go trying to help or blame others for their fires. If I lived in Mexico right now I would want out also. Freaking corrupt morons.

If our federal government (who's main job by the way is to protect our borders, not own business) wanted to they could stop or seriously dampen both illegal entry into this great country and stop the drug flow. What's killing this great country is the worldview of pluralism or relativism. In which there are no longer any Absolutes there is only "truth is relative to each person and situation".

You want to stop illegal border crossing? Open these areas up to our military for "live fire" exercises. Allow our military, Marines, Army, Air Force and National Guard to use some of this area for war games, operations etc.

Post up signs along the border giving everyone plenty of warning in many languages, brail and sign language.

Pansy asses though should not run a country as great as America so we will always have these issues as long as that is the case.

Logic does not matter in this case. Law does not matter in this case. It's a political issue.

ugh.

I am in support of AZ's right to limit illegal immigrants. The state and the people have indicated they do not want people there who have not gone through the legal process, and I respect their desires.

Guess who said this :

Welcome Latinos; immigration is not a problem to be solved

Latinos come to the US to seek the same dreams that have inspired millions of others: they want a better life for their children. Family values do not stop at the Rio Grande. Latinos enrich our country with faith in God, a strong ethic of work, community & responsibility. We can all learn from the strength, solidarity, & values of Latinos. Immigration is not a problem to be solved, it is the sign of a successful nation. New Americans are to be welcomed as neighbors and not to be feared as strangers

It’s time to permit temporary guest workers

America’s immigration system is outdated, unsuited to the needs of our economy and to the values of our country. We should not be content with laws that punish hardworking people and deny businesses willing workers and invite chaos at our border. It is time for an immigration policy that permits temporary guest workers to fill jobs Americans will not take, that rejects amnesty, that tells us who is entering and leaving our country, and that closes the border to drug dealers and terrorists.

Our economy could not function without the immigrants

We hear claims that immigrants are somehow bad for the economy, even though this economy could not function without them. All these are forms of economic retreat, and they lead in the same direction, toward a stagnant and second-rate economy.

Sometimes the answer is only reached when the right question or questions are asked. Oftentimes the arguments from both sides surrounding the matter merely hide the real issue.

One such question that must be answered is why we as a society have laws. As well, what becomes of a society that does not enforce its laws or arbitrarily enforces its laws?

Chaos ensues where law does not reign and do so properly.

If one will argue that someone here illegally has such a right because... Then the state of Arizona might as well argue they will enforce their new law regardless of the recent court judgment.

And the end result of this would be order or chaos? It follows then that such courses of action will become the norm over time and only the blind would not recognize this as choas.

There is no valid argument outside the law concerning someone being here illegally. The argument begins and ends with the law. Laws are established and they are removed but done so within the established framework.

If one argues for the breaking of the law, whether they do so for supposed humanitarian purposes or economical reasons, still they argue against the law, and finally they argue for chaos knowingly or not. Better then to argue for a changing of the law.

no he wasn't at one point Bush was in favor of just allowing all illegals in the country to become naturalized....that one went over like a lead balloon...

it was sort of "okay everyone in here now is legal...and we start a new policy on immigration."
