Burgers - 05-24-2010, 08:25 PM

An American favorite food? Yes? No? Just heard on the local newscast that the iconic west coast hamburger haven, In-N-Out burger will build their first Texas outpost right here in NE Texas. Excited? Yes, I am. I have long heard the complaints of transplanted Californians bemoaning their inability to feed their In-N-Out burger fix. Of course I also heard great things from the Steak-N-Shake folks, but was greatly disappointed myself when I tried them on several occasions. But we'll see. Hoping that they are everything they are cracked up to be. I have yet to try out the 5 Guys located in Plano, but haven't heard very good reviews on them.

Claying does not mean "High end". It means quality/caring. So would actually learning a trade instead of "Hey I can wash and wax a car, so I'ma gonna be a detailer."

In n Out makes a decent burger, fries and shake. You have to ask for the animal fries since they aren't on the menu.

What are animal fries? Fried in beef tallow?

JonHenry, I'm not the one bashin' on 5-Guys, I haven't eaten there yet.

But, yes TD, we have pretty high expectations for burgers we're here in beef country and there are a lot of burger joints that have raised the bar pretty high. It has been my experience that if there are more than two or three locations then I've probably been set up for disappointment. Dairy Queen was technically an exception to that rule. I ate at the original Fudrucker's back when it first opened in San Antonio, but feel that expansion has taken it's toll on that concept. But that won't stop me from giving it a try when In-N-Out makes its Texas debut (so long as there aren't any lines ).

Poorboy, I'm with you I can't stand a dried out patty. Fond memories of eating burgers whilst the juices dripped down both elbows.
