Clark Griswold In Hawaii - 02-23-2010, 05:29 PM

While waiting for the rental cars to load up at the AP in Hawaii. I saw this Ford Explorer drive by. I couldn't leave the bags to get a better pic but you get idea.

It was suppose to be the woody look

It looked to me like the surf board was part of the kit, and from what I could see of this SUV it was a taxi or liberty type of car, and your right there is something wrong with it

You people do realize that the early "Station Wagons" did have a considerable amount of wood in the body.
Until the late 40s that was how they were constructed.
They didn't rust out, they actually rotted out.
Even when they went to the veneer panels and then the appliques, the heavier wood pieces were still truly wood. Still rotted out, too.

It could have been a prop car for a possible Fantasy Island Remake.
