Favorite Wheels - 06-06-2008, 05:44 PM

I'm curious to know what tastes we have when it comes to wheels. This is a broad question simply because it depends on how they compliment the car but in general what is your favorite type of wheel. How does everyone feel with respect to black wheels vs. chrome wheels vs. polished wheels vs. black wheels with chrome or polished accents? At the end of the day I go pretty safe on my selection, chrome goes with most anything and are easy to take care of, that's how I voted. Tell me what's on your ride or what you like. If you have a picture of your preference all the better.

I like these on most Mustangs.

I voted for chrome, but polished, satin, or silver all work for me.
Maybe I should just say that I don't care for black wheels.
Of course, back in the 60's, I thought a car with black tires instead of whitewalls looked dumb. Times change.

I voted polished, but I like black too. I actually am going from black steelies to some polished aluminum wheels. They're not Mickey Thompson Classic II's, but look identical

And these are what I have now

I think once they're polished out, they'll look xxxxxin' on my rig. And there's way too many white Jeeps with black wheels in these parts now anywho. I'll post pics when they're on.

I chose satin aluminum because I think they'll go with everything and are rarely too flashy. IMO, wheels are supposed to compliment a vehicle, not the other way around. The flashiest I'd go is a polished lip. My wheels are painted silver and the compliments keep coming.

My vote is for chrome. I am of the opinion that one can never have enough bling.

Do they make clear coated stainless steele wheels?

I voted chrome...I run Breyton chrome five spoke rims on my BMW...I take flack for the chrome on the car at a BMW site but I really don't care....Polished aluminum is another choice but it HAS to be clear coated

I'm with you audiboy

I'm not big on the chromed or polished wheels these days. Satiny aluminum with some polished accents would be my first choice.

Hey GH you forgot the "other" option. I would have voted for baby blue wheels.

C'mon show me a picture of a wheel you appreciate. I thought about the "other" category but I was a afraid someone would vote for a chrome wheel with a gold center. It brings back bad memories.

I love wheels...all kinds. To me, you can take the 'ugliest' car and put a sweet set of wheels on it and make it look cool instantly.

I like a lot of different wheels...depends on the car it's going on but I think, without a doubt, the one wheel that looks 'perfect' on almost any street rod or muscle car is this...

I really like the original torq-thrust wheels too with the gray/charcoal spokes, but there's no denying a set of chrome Torq-Thrust II's for the win!!

Now...if it's a sport compact car, I really love these Rota Slipstreams...color of course depends on the car's color and stance...

That's my .02¢.

OH...but there is one thing about wheels I can't stand. It's when the offset is off and the tires sit 'under' the car. I love it when the wheels fit 'flush' with the fenders.
