Wash mitts --- what type? - 01-22-2008, 05:54 AM

I used to use a cotton chenille mitt, then I went to genuine sheepskin, but now I find myself being partial to a MF chenille, I have yet to try the schmitt.

So I'm curious what others are using.

The poll is set up to take multiple answers, if you use different types mitts for different areas.

MF mitt that is not chenille.
Cotton chenille covered sponge.
Sea sponge.
Grout sponge.

I like the MF Chenille ones myself. They hold a lot of water and are very soft.

Are you people using a MF Dreadlock Chenille mitt or one with what I call "normal" chenille weave?
I haven't tried a Dreadlock mitt yet.

I voted for Sheepskin, as that's still my primary weapon of choice. However, I have had very good results with the dreadlock style MF mitts.

I don't believe in grit guards.

At this moment I am using the Schmitt and liking it. Prior to the Schmitt my lambs wool mitt did just fine. For paint cleaning I cannot tell the difference between the two.

I like beer. On occasion I will even drink a beer to celebrate a major event such as the fall of communism or the fact that our refrigerator is still working.

Call me old school but I still like using the synthetic sheep skin mitts (not the cheap ones). I say that but yet I don't carry any on my site at the moment. We will be soon though. The ShMitt would be my close second.

I still like using a Water Sprite synthetic chamois the best for drying too but that's mainly because I dry multiple cars a day and the microfiber just isn't as practical IMO. Although I do follow up with a damp microfiber because sometimes the chamois can leave a film behind.

I've been favoring the dreadlock style mf chenniles. Contrary to whats ome people think, they actually release dirt really well.

I have also been using a chamois a lot more. Even on my own car and have yet to cause damage. I still have my waffleweaves, but I've been getting good results with a chamois. I just dry the crevice type areas last, just incase they carry any dirt I may have missed. My pressure washer helps out a lot though.
