The Cold Weather Really Bites!!! - 12-10-2007, 10:24 AM

Over the weekend the one job that I had was canceled for next weekend...no big deal...However I then decided I needed something to work on...My cars are already clean so no needs there....I took it upon myself to clean the gas stove and oven

The stove top was pretty nasty and that took quite a while to get cleaned...mostly it was trail and error as to what worked and the process.....Once that was done I decided to do the refrigerator....no big deal just time consuming...well those are nice and clean....Here in lies the problem...the wife thinks that I actually enjoyed cleaning these up..NO!!!!!

That the problem with cold weather as I don't have any weekend jobs I go looking at things around the house....wife loves this as I an totally anal about it...much more than her.

Anyone else with this delima

I have found myself taking my detailing skills into everything...especially in these winter months...

For me my steam cleaner has been fantastic around the house, does great in the kitchen getting rid of anything and everything withour using any real harsh chemicals.

No as far as the wife goes, I don't think she thinks that I like it, but she will ask me to do it because of how good it came out...

I like beer. On occasion I will even drink a beer to celebrate a major event such as the fall of communism or the fact that our refrigerator is still working.

A steamer would have been the trick....on the stove top grates they had baked on stuff...I heated up the oven to 400 then sprayed them down with oven cleaner, while on a cookie rack...then placed them in the over for about 30 minutes...then transferred them to the sink full of hot soapy water....that lifted everything off with ease...all I had to do then was use a SOS pad and they where prefect....around the burners the steamer would have been the trick!

My stove top is smooth surface, but on the grates I would have attached a brush to the tip of the steamer.

The steamer has been super helpful not only in cars but in the kitchen and bathrooms...

Add these to the list, wax the cabinets and pull out the stove, fridge, washer, dryer and clean behind them. I also remove the panels and vaccum the underside of the fridge and dryer where all the dust accumulates, clean the dryer vent hose and the soap and softener dispenser. Don't forget the coffee maker!

I hate it too, but it looks great afterwards and the wife does appreciate it.
