OMG, now this guy is a royal moron -
08-23-2007, 11:24 AM
Check this thread out. I joined this board to chat and discuss cars and such and then I noticed they had a detailing forum. So I posted here and there and decided to throw down a thread that usually gets people talking. Then this guy selling some kind of wacky wax shows up and starts showing off his ignorance. Tell me if I'm off base by saying that he is absolutely losing the battle on this one. How can you never have used a sealant before, or even know what they are, and then start professing that your products is the best product in the world? The guy just makes me laugh because he keeps digging himself deeper.

Every forum seems to have a detailing expert. Most of them are just down right scary. I say take him up on his free sample offer. Nothing to lose. Not saying it will do all he says but what the heck, give it a shot.

Nah... He has lost my respect and my confidence just in the way he behaves. I would rather stick with Spray Souveran or any of the awesome spray sealants on the market than deal with him. Besides, I don't think people are always truely objective when they have free product in their hands. I think my opinion of the product would be worth more if I had actually paid for it (which I won't).
He says his spray wax lasts 12 weeks? BWAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! Yeah, with the amount of acutal carnauba you can put into a spray wax I'm really sure it lasts that long. Maybe he meant to say 1 to 2 weeks and it got blurred.

Ya, but according to his website it's "the first nano-engineered product of it's kind", with "Amino Silicone Copolymer Carnauba Wax Nanotechnology" so it's gotta be good.

He said something in another thread about how they don't need to use that dumb microabrasive stuff. In fact, let me just quote some of my favorite lines.
"NEVER EVER EVER use compound on your car! It will ruin your paint.
That stuff should be illegal to sell."
"...a P/C (doesn't do much) and dimishing abrasives (hack up your paint) ..."
And I don't know what this is, but this is how he desribes the particles in his polish: "The particles (aluminum oxide) are already microscopic and are ready to remove swirls." That is why you don't need diminishing abrasives. By his own explanation what he believes they do is create heavy cuts that need to be filled in later. I guess the part about them diminishing and polishing out their own haze was sort of lost on him... lol

I guess you should not go back and tell him about the WOWA product that just came out made by Zaino. Five minute application and then walk away. Also it does not stain trim. that would drive him crazy.

I'm sure there are various types (grades) of aluminum oxide but some of its typical uses are on saw blades (for cutting ceramic and concrete) and grinding stones. It also is the grit that is used to put the final no slip texture in my epoxy floor coating in my garage. By the way I didn't use it. I think I have a quart of it out in the garage. It just looks like sand.

My favorite -- "My Supplier" :lol Translation (IMO): "I have a fancy private label applied to a product."
I'm not knocking his product, saying it doesn't perform, nor am I in anyway duping something that I have not used, nor any of the big dollar ones so many of us are willing to shell out cash on -- what would like to point out though to those ignorant amongst us the underlying truth. If you buy enough wax, polish, sealant, glaze, dressing, cleaner, or whatever you want from any manufacturer they'll produce it in almost any color and scent you want. If you don't believe me, contact Meguires, The Auto Wax Co. (aka: Auto Magic), Car Brite, Mark V, BAF Industries (aka: Pro Products), Coats, etc. and inquire about "Private labeling." And if you can't afford the initial production costs (say for instance 100+ gallons or 10,000 units) you can always purchase a smaller quantity, put it in your own bottle with your own label and head to the nearest car show, swapmeet, local fair, car enthusiast web-site, or wherever and jump into the billion dollar car care product industry and see what happens (how many thousand gallons of Dry-Wash have been sold by an enterprising MLM guru). I would also be willing to bet cold hard cash that many of the products already sitting on you shelf, Jngrbrdman, are just that -- for if we change the scent, the color and and of course the fancy hype and labeling people will of course want to try the "new and improved" or "latest and greatest" -- you'd be amazed at how well people like the purple grape smelling "poly-charged, micro-sylicia, amino fortified, carnauba enriched, express glaze" over the "red cherry sealer-wax."

He sent me a PM and tried to call a truce. I think he finally realized that he was not winning the argument and he was offending his potential customers. I think he may also have realized that I just came on the scene and already people are trusting my opinion over his, so he might want to back off. lol Something he said was interesting though. He said that 3M and Meguiar's definitely knew about their product and that Meguiar's Solo product was their answer to the competition. I've never heard of this before. Has anoyone used Solo from Meguiar's yet? Here is the website on it. Honestly I'd rather try a product from a company that knows the difference between a wax and a sealant and isn't diluted enough to think that a spray wax is going to outlast a sealant. lol
