If money wasn't an issue I would.... - 04-30-2007, 03:36 PM

Ok I posted in the shoutbox about where you would rather be, but I decided to start a poll and expand the question a little.

Question is;

If you had unlimited money and time (no work), what would you do?

Here's my answer. I would start with some serious site seeing and thrill seeking. Probably start in Alaska and travel around the world to see and experience all of God's wonders.

I would learn how to do some things that I've always wanted to do, like learning to fly a helicopter, scuba diving, mountain climbing... you know all the typical stuff someone wants to do when they start having their mid-life crisis.

I'm only 36, so I guess I'm starting a little early.

Once I have gotten all that out of my system, I would like to spend the rest of my life finding creative ways to bless people. I watched the movie "Facing the Giants" the other day and although I didn't care for the acting very much in the beginning, the movie definitely has a great message. In the movie, the coach had this old beat up car that always had problems and because he helped a father and son reconcile, the father anonymously gave him a new truck. Being able to do that for someone one day would be an awesome feeling.

So go ahead and pm me with how ratty your car is and who knows....

Almost forgot where I was for a minute.

Since this is a detailer's forum I should add to the question what you would be driving.

I know one of my cars would be a Rubicon. I would also have a Mercedes SL65 AMG. Not sure I would have much else. To me exotics are nice but owning one doesn't really appeal to me much. I don't care how much money I have, I will never own a Hummer. Unless of course I hired one of you guys as my personal detailer / chauffeur.

I would have a nice big guitar collection with all those guitars that I drool over, but can't afford to buy. I'd also buy a normal size house and have one room soundproofed and have that be a home studio/ music room. I'd finally get a drum set! : I'd also have a classic car collection. And I'd love to get a fixer upper classic and fully restore it and yeah do some travelling too, but no big mansions or private islands or any of that stuff. Just a house big enough to have friends over for dinner to hang out and laugh the night away. Oh, I'd also have to have a boat to do some fishin and divin. (You can take the girl out of the ocean but you can't take the ocean out of the girl. )

What would I be driving?? Probably a Shelby Mustang.

Cool thread, Troy. It's good to dream.

For me:
First thing i would do would buy my own house 4bd with a 4 car garage and a little grany unit above it for the party room. Of course out in the country.
Buy my own shop and start my own detail/ custom car audio business.
Travel to Europe, Spain, and Australia.
My cars would be a 2005 Black Neon SRT4, 2006 Dodge Viper, Yamaha R6 Raven Ed, and my Stampede now bagged.
For others:
I would like to by both my parents their fav cars completely restored from when they were young. My mom, 63 VW bug convert. For my dad a Black/Black 1970 Corvette 427. My bro a 06 Chrysler SRT8 300C.
For my gf a 06 Black BMW M5 and her dream guitar Zemaitis Custom PF500-Checker Electric Guitar.

It will never happen but its the thought that counts right??

I'm sorry this one made me laugh a little. I'm not too familiar with the neons but with all the cars out there it was definitely a surprise to see a neon listed as a dream car.

Option #3 was pretty close, although I doubt I'd move somewhere. I love to hunt, fish, and spend all the time I can outdoors, and AL is a place that has tons of opportunity for that. Not saying that I wouldn't travel around a bit to do the things I enjoy, but it's as good here as it is anywhere else in the country in my opinion.

Good thread Troy - gets the mind of off work for a bit.

As far as vehicles go, I'd probably get me a 69 Camaro. I've always liked those.

I'd go for the island, drive a convertible, and have one fine offshore boat.

If you need a travel buddy to go to Spain, I'll go with you. I still have family in Asturias and the Canary Islands I've never met.

I would have the most ridiculous car collection that could ever be conceived. Old and new, I'd have them all. Traveling the world would be at a very close second though. I've been a lot of places through the Air Force and am just curious to see how different the world is from place to place.

And I would drive something that is well made, nice body lines, fun to detail, and in the hybrid-green world.

Believe it or not, my biggest fantasy about money is (pay off the debts and be debt free) but then I would love to bless people in need. We have a friend who is a Missionary in the Sudan. A single woman, who has no vehicle. I would love to buy her a sat. phone and sat internet, so she can keep in touch with people.

That's my dream...to bless people. I love to do that and long to do more of it.

I said travel the world... I'm not too interested in seeing the whole world right now... I'd like to spend a few years exploring America and then venture out of the country. I have been to something like 35 of the states and I'd like to see them all, and spend a little more time in them as well, of course travelling in luxury in one form or another
