Who Is The Next American Idol?

The competition is getting fierce and alot of people that thought Chris Daughtry was going to win were shocked to see him get eliminated from the competition earlier this week.

It's now down to three finalists. Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee, Elliott Yamin all want to be the next American Idol!

If it was a vote for who I could go out on a date with, I'd have to vote for Katherine. But this isn't about me and my love life, this is a competition that will make one of these folks a star so I have to vote for Taylor Hicks. That dude has got soul and I admit it, I'm a member of the Soul Patrol!

Welcome back Fuzz! I like them all, as they are all talented in their own way. With Chris out, my vote goes to Katharine. Besides her good looks, I think she may have the best polished voice of the three remaining. Then again, I can't hold a note to save my life. I think she would be more marketable in other media arenas, like modeling and movies. Being a guy, I must admit I would rather see her in concert than the other two.

Chris and Kat took there eye off the ball thinking that they had it sewed up....I'm with Taylor on this one he has the best personality of any of them and can really sing...IMO

Soul Patrol all the way! Katharine will also go on to make lots of money, thanks to her voice and beautiful looks. Elliott has a good voice, but not strong enough to hang with Taylor. So my winner is Taylor Hicks.

Agreed. At least with Taylor, he's always been consistently good. The others have all had more "off" nights than should be acceptable.

Who will I vote for this week? Kat cuz she is the most versatile of the remaining AIs for the types of music I enjoy.

Who is the most fun to watch? Taylor, of course. I never tire of his style!

Who do I think is the most underrated? Elliott, and he has been all season. Has the best voice of all the candidates this season, but not the best presentation.

Who do I think will win? Mr. Consistency Taylor, with Elliott a very close 2nd.

Who do I think has the best chances of selling CD's of the remaining AIs? Kat and Elliott.

Chris was NOT really voted off. He requested to be withdrawn so he could get working on his deal with Fuel.

I heard this on the trading floor on Monday afternoon:
"Chris from the American Idol show is gettting himself pulled out of the show to start a career with some band."

I read this Wednesday monring on CNN.com:
"Fuel seeks Chris Daughtry to be their new lead singer".

There is a lot of good info on the trading floor. Amazing what you hear.

I'm sure it will be Taylor. He seems to be the most popular and most consistent, plus he has never been to the "Bottom 3" side of the stage. Goat Boy (Elliott) hasn't got a chance, and Katherine is a little too flakey for the general population.

I don't. I think he just had the fewest amount of votes. He had been in the bottom three before. So the only reason that it was such a big surprise is because Katharine stunk up the place on Tuesday night. Good thing for her that her fans were still allowed to vote even though she had a bad night.

I thought I heard mention of this on some program, but the word was that he is still contractually bound to AI and cannot pursue a post AI career until his obligation(s) are fulfilled. That will include some sort of post season AI tour. Based on that, I'm guessing his numbers just fell a little short.

I don't get the Yamin factor. He drew great revues for both of his Elvis songs, but both performances were completely lost on me.

I like Taylor's sound and don't even mind his somewhat manic stage presence. IMO, the Elvis genre was most suited to his physical style. I thought that he and Chris were neck and neck on that show.

But, my guess is that Katherine's vocals and physical appearance will be what the AI producers are hoping for. Maybe she presents a package which can be marketed to the younger crowd, which seems to be their target.

Finally, I have never cast a vote for any AI show participant, and this year will not see that trend come to an end. I haven't been overly impressed with the winners produced by the previous seasons, though I might be hard pressed to name them.
