Hello from me! - 01-20-2010, 11:43 PM

Hey guys!

Very excited to be here! I already read a bunch of threads and there are really some knowledgeable people! I would like to "meet" and share with you all!

Now something about me. I am starting mobile business in South Florida. I will post pictures of the setup when I am ready. I am currently thinking about prices that I will charge. From what I see here (and I also think is a good idea) is good to have a few "packages" rather than individual services. I also saw that most of you guys want to reach a certain per hour dollar amount (ex. $40/h). I will definitely have that in mind. I am getting off topic. Well, nice to meet you all!

Thanks black bart!

I am currently trying to find where to post ideas for pricing as I am thinking to start sometime next month. I have a great deal to learn. Is there a particular thread for pricing here on the forum?

Welcome from ky.

There isn't an actual section for posting pricing guidelines. But if you use the search function you'll find several threads and posts concerning the topic. In a nutshell the reasonable thing to do is set a price that you have to have to make it worth it. There are several factors to consider.
Will you be detailing on a full time or part time basis. If part time do you have another job to make ends meet. Or are you a student just looking to make some extra cash. Do you need detailing to cover your monthly expenses, or do you just need to make enough to pay for your equipment and chemicals with a bit extra as profit. Just consider all the bases. Don't overcharge from the beginning. As a new detailer it's wise to make what you need and take the experience you receive as a bonus. Then as you progress, your services improve, the quality of your products and equipment improves, the time it takes to detail is lessened due to a set procedure you establish, and all of these things can be reflected in your pricing as you go.

That's just a summary of what i've gathered. Others may have some more advice. But from personal experience. Starting out. Experience is more valuable than makig a couple extra bucks.

Wish you the best.
