How About a Real Mobile Detailers Magazine! -

I know this is probably a stretch but I have been really thinking about coming up with a real mobile detailers Magazine. Nothing to glamorous or thick, just simple colorful, helpful. I know I would love a monthly Magazine to browse over with tips, new ideas, tons of pics, lots of reviews of products, basically a forum on printed page but better. All the major Detailer Brands, Meguiars, Automagic, Mothers, ect..can put ads in it. Monthly Articles of local Detailers with their rigs and pics of work. I could go on here, and probably most Pro and Enthusiasts would enjoy a real magazine that is made for them and by detailers like them.
Just an idea, I could probably start small and locally. but I bet it would catch on nation wide.
Any ideas or people who would be interested in beginning something like this?

HUH to bad...I love the forums, don't get me wrong I have learned a lot here. But a magazine would just be convenient when on the road or on trips or what ever. I guess it's not a hit for everyone

Ink and paper are expensive. Newspaper distribution is shrinking every day. I would think someone would need a good chunk of capital to turn that switch on. Not to mention the commitment of a known customer base in order to even plan such an endeavor. We that frequent this and similar boards are in a fairly small group of people. I wouldn't think that one in thirty people that frequent this board would pay for a magazine subscription. How many subscriptions would you need to sell at a couple of bucks a magazine to survive?

I still buy mags on a regular basis. Hot Rod and Truckin has come to my door for years. I don't think magazines are dead yet, and if there was a magazine for detailers I would most definatly buy it. Yes it would take a small fortune to start up and who knows if it would even take off or not. Its a cool idea and it were published I would subscribe to it.

You could offer a digital version of the magazine as well. I know the Association I work for has a print and a digital version of the magazine. Digital especially for international since the cost is very high to ship international and many wait months to receive their magazine due to poor postal systems.

I guess that is what I was trying to say. When I said 1 in 30 of us might buy it we're talking about the 30 being professionals or enthusiasts that are truly interested in the subject. The average person would think we're nuts, they'd be thinking a print magazine that talks about washing cars? C'mon.
I know a ton of people who really believe they are "car guys" yet when it comes to the details of detailing haven't got a clue. They can tell you about cams and tires, injectors and suspension, programmers and headers but haven't got an idea how to identify a paint swirl let alone how to correct it. A tub of wax (any wax) and they're good to go.

In my opinion PC&D are a waste of time. To much tunnel wash crap and cheap towel adds. Not been a lot of DETAILERS info in there. They want to sell 10s of thousands of dollars worth of product not a 1-200 total sale of usable product. I wont renew my PC&D. Im even not renewing my HOT ROD after 35 years of reading it. Very little info in that any more too. Read and ask questions in the forums, then put that info to practice and tell us good or bad. Much easy in forums than than on paper and having to pay others to do it in a magazine.
