Question Doctor, Mortgages, Law Offices - 12-08-2007, 08:06 AM

During this off season I having been reflecting over this past detail season. Thinking about some of the things that I've done to market myself and my business. Although I detail on the weekend most on the time, I am ready to go to the next level full time detailing. This is something I dream/think about day in & day out. There is definitely a strong market here in Tulsa OK for detailing. The task at hand is how to get T-Mac's Auto Detailing more into the public eye.

I have read a great deal about market strategies on this form. Many of which I have applied, and had good success i.e. craigslist, flyer's, B.C., so on and so forth.
I also understand that word of mouth in this line of business is the #1 way to obtain new clientele. Having said all that... do any of you guy's pro. or armature have any accounts with doctors, mortgage, law offices or any other type of business such as these. I've thought about trying to get in the door of establishment such as this, but I'm not really shore how to do it. IF you guy's have any knowledge, wisdom, words of encouragement...lol it would be very appreciated.

Thanks
T-Mac (Tony)

Tony.. most of the people you mention just don't care enough about the appearance of their vehicles .. try to focus on Real Estate brokers and other professions where first appearance when showing up in a vehicle is important... sales people are the best target market

I agree with Steve on the RE people I have a few of them here, however I don't agree with Steve on Doctor, Lawyers and such professionals. If you have flyer's or something that can get your name to them, they can be a good network to be in,,,,my wife works for four doctors, I do all four of there cars, and the wife's cars now....what I have started to do with them is offer a discount to them for referral's to their Doctor network....its starting to work for me...Its in the numbers of Doc's & lawyers that you send your info to, that will help you get a leg on

I do have flyer's, but my wife doesn't work for any doctors . A bit more difficult to get my info in their hands. I agree with you on the networking...I'm just looking for a professional way to market to this group of professionals.

Steve, do you just walk in and leave a flyer with the receptionist asking to put it up where everyone can see it, or do you have a face to face with the owner/manger about his/hers car letting them know you are interested in providing your detail services to them and their employees? What is the best method?

it would be best to talk to the owner of the agency and work out a deal with that person ..if you get that person, all of their employees will fall right in line

You might try some auto clubs. I'm in the local Jaguar club and I'm amazed at the way the owners don't upkeep their cars. Some of them like to work on the mechanics but I seem to be the only member that likes to detail my Jag. I think most of them run theirs trhough the car wash and maybe have the car wash detail them. Plus, as old as I am, I am one of the younger members of the club.

Here is the link to the Tulsa OK Jaguar club: Jaguar Club of Tulsa Page

I'm sure there is also a Porche club as well.

Good luck!

Reddwarf, do you have to own a Jag to be apart of this club?? If so I don't think my Ford f-150 will measure up.

I'm sure they would let anyone willing to pay the dues join. I'd recommend you give the President of the club a call and maybe offer the club a discount. Or go to their meeting and talk about how to detail. My club is always looking for something different to do.

I'll give the President a call and see what kind of info I can get on a membership. Also see if they would be interested in my services.
