Winter Special - 09-30-2007, 10:57 AM

I am thinking about running a before winter detail special. Offering full details with a 10 to 20 % discount. I live in Oklahoma, and it is just about time for winter here. Thought I would give it one more big push before the detail season ends. Have any of you ever tried this, and if so what were your results?

I would offer this to new customers as an incentive to try your service in the hopes of picking up their spring biz...one thing that I have learned about reduced specials, is the customers never forget the price, and seem to think the next job will cost the same.

Senario you buy an item today for $10 down from $15....a month later you want another one and its $15 you would think twice about it why? because your mind is branded with the $10 price and to you that's what its worth...same will hold true with your customers in the spring, be aware that they will be looking for that winter time price..IMO

how true you would be better off offering a free upgrade, like an engine cleaning, or an extra coat of wax or sealant ..or something along those lines...people like free stuff
