Any tips to remove food oil stain from Leather seat?

My Dad called me today and said that he got an oil stain on his front seat of his Nissan Titan from oil on the bottom of the bag from a fast food joint. The first thing I could think of to suggest was a leather cleaner such as Lexol. Do you guys think this will work? Do you have any suggestions of products to try on this leather to try to get this oil stain out?

What kind of leather are we talking here? If it`s not the real cow hide leather that is a pain to clean then yes any leather cleaner will do, if it`s real nubuck suede leather, you could try using any leather cleaner, but before you do test it out on a part that you can`t see and let it dry. Sometimes leather cleaners can do more harm than good

Lexol may work. If that doesnt do it OPC is stronger but still safe on leather. The key is to use a stiff leather brush or toothbrush along with it.

Based on the Titan leather interiors I`ve seen they are typical "coated" leather in the primary seating areas with vinyl surrounds. As noted above when cleaning these types of surfaces you can normally employ some manual agitation with a medium to soft bristle brush along with your leather cleaner of choice. Lexol gel cleaner is readily available in my area and works well. For food based stains, one of my favorites is Bioleen`s Bac-Out Stain and Odor Elimator. Unfortunately, is is not an OTC product for me. Obviously getting to the stain as quickly as possible increases your chances of taking care of the problem.

Please be careful if the stain is on Nubuck, Suede, etc., type material, as leather cleaners are NOT recommended for this. You will need to get a dedicated cleaner for NuBuck, Suede, etc., type materials.

Is the Leather that got stained light colored? What color ?

use washing up liquid into a bowl and dip the brush in it and apply it on the stain scrub the washing up liquid into the stain circular motion. It will break down the grease and make it easier to wash out.
