In addition to the damage my brother did backing into my rear passenger side door, I had a plethora of door dings (total of 17 circled that were not on the damaged door!) and had most of them removed. A couple minor ones I don`t really notice remained. Been taking it in the shorts for quite a while with the constant rain and cold, so I really didn`t want to spend too much since I`m going to get the front end repainted (stone chips) this summer.

    Nice and straight now:

Hail ding and a scratch, plus this is the area of the door the new skin was cut and welded into, right about where the light is shinning on the door pillar.

New door skin and side molding:

They even did a good job matching the factory Nissan orange peel. If I was having a full repaint done, I would have paid for extra clear and wetsanding to eliminate it, but on a repair, it is better to match what the factory did.

The car looks great, Scott. Can`t you get rid of the peel by wetsanding it?

Yes, but I`d have to wetsand the entire car and factory clears really aren`t meant to be wetsanded to that extent. I`m not sure I can safely remove all the factory orange peel without compromising the clear coat.

Looks nice Scott, but the bumper appears way darker than the 1/4? Maybe it`s the pictures?

Probably the pictures, didn`t notice it in the shop.

BTW, someone on offtopic.com was asking about you. He posts as "Relax Preppy", not sure what his real name is. Anyway, he said you quoted him $400 and I told he will be happy with your work. I hope he follows through.

$40 an hour. They are a State Farm 1st choice shop (or whatever the official name is) so their labor rate is capped at $40 an hour on paint and body. For mechanical work, I believe it is $65 an hour.

Looks great! I remember the original post with dings circled, body work being done, etc...what a turn around.

Ah, good. That`s about the rate my one guy charges too. Nice to get good work at that rate.
