Green dots and such - 07-10-2007, 04:24 PM

I haven't paid any attention to it, so far, but now I would like to know what this little square green dot is by my profile. Some members have quite a few of them and they are paritally in light green.
So what are they and why are they lighted?

P.S> I am not talking about the ROUND green dot that shows if I am online or not.

It's for reuptation points. If someone likes your post, they can give you a positive point.

If you like the advice that someone gave you can hit the balance next to the round green dot that says your online (which will give them reputation points) and then write why you are giving them points. Basically a way to say thanks for the advice.

Oh ok, that makes sense. Thanks
But why are some points dark green and some light green?

I might be wrong but i think the max that you can get is 10 green squares and the first 5 are dark and the last 5 are light green i don't have a clue what the different colors mean i think they are just for show.

It works both ways. Most of the people receive positive rep points, but negative rep can be given as well.
Sad as it sounds we have had members in the past with red dots

It's nice to see that we have polite and helpful people
