Helping new members and guests

You guys are very helpful to our new members. I decided to start a new section on here for new members, so they can make better use of this site.

Feel free to add something that you feel would help them.

The FAQ section is a source for general site navigation and help, but this area should help even further.

Special thanks to Jay for having some existing threads that I am copying to this forum.
