Need Some Feedback

The moderators and I have been discussing this and I thought I would ask the question publically and see what you guys have to say.

We are a bit baffled why a lot of members aren't posting. We get plenty of visitors (members and guests) each day but not a lot of posts.

Anything else I can do to encourage more participation?

I would like to hear what you guys have to say.

I did post today, there has been a lot of times I havnt posted. I guess it was because I didnt know about the subject or what I would have said was already covered. RANDAL

That is the million dollar question! I try to post and keep active, but I think a lot of people prefer to read. I don't know why they don't post. Maybe some are shy? I would like to see more people post. It seems to me that everyone on here is friendly and welcoming.

I personally think the number of sub forums needs to be trimmed down. I don't know if it would help with posting though. I think the weather being cold in many parts of the country is hurting the posting since people can't detail. Even here in Houston, we've gotten a wicked cold spell of rain and low 40's for temps.

I just did a quick detail of the Envoy today since the temps got into the 60's.

I had wondered also why you don't see more posts especially at times when there are quite a few people on.

I would like to see something similar to what they have over at autopia a click and brag section.

I just like having a place for everything as specific as possible without going over board.

sometimes i think that most of us that have been here for awhile have gotten our product /processes down so we dont ask as many questions as when we were new .. its wintertime too . i used to post alot but now that im into hotrods more i dont post as much because no one here wants to get into engine/suspension discussions .. i still log in all the time to see whats going on .. oh yea my car is primered ...ha ha

I don't think so Troy, and like Scott said, it wouldn't increase the posting.

I think that a lot of times on forums, when people ask about something, they get the "do a search, it's been discussed many times" response. This is usually true, but it limits the amount of things that you have to post about. I think that a lot of people's techniques and products change over time, so it is good to have new threads on the same topics.

As far as general participation goes, if I don't feel like I can add to what has been said, or offer another solution, I usually don't post. I would like for my posting to be helpful posts, versus a bunch of nothing but "me too" posts.

The other major forum seems to have one major page to review and then you break off into the other forums if you are interested but you can easily stay only on the main page. Seems here there are too many secondary forums to get lost in.
I know this forum does the same but it doesn't seem to show as well.
