I don't think so Troy, and like Scott said, it wouldn't increase the posting.
I think that a lot of times on forums, when people ask about something, they get the "do a search, it's been discussed many times" response. This is usually true, but it limits the amount of things that you have to post about. I think that a lot of people's techniques and products change over time, so it is good to have new threads on the same topics.
As far as general participation goes, if I don't feel like I can add to what has been said, or offer another solution, I usually don't post. I would like for my posting to be helpful posts, versus a bunch of nothing but "me too" posts.
