1Z Einszett Kristall Klar Washer Fluid Concentrate Review

Now that warm weather has finally arrived and weekend road trips equal bug splattered windshields I thought it would be the perfect time to try 1Z Einszett Kristall Klar Washer Fluid Concentrate.

From Autopia`s product page for 1Z Einszett Kristall Klar Washer Fluid Concentrate:
"Apply 1Z Einszett Windshield Wash Booster to fresh water in your windshield washer reservoir, 1Z Einszett Windshield Wash Booster removes oil, grease, silicone, wax, insects, dangerous glare filming and environmental grime from front and rear windscreens in seconds. Guaranteed to be smear-free when dispensed correctly. 1Z Einszett Windshield Wash Booster eliminates wiper blade rattles and squeaks. The lubricant reduces wear and tear. It can be mixed with any Einszett antifreeze additives. Environmentally safe, formalin-free, biodegradable. Economy measuring dispenser included for optimum dispensing. Phosphate-free. Suitable for plastic headlight lenses."
The bottle comes with easy to follow instructions printed on the label. Mixing 1Z with water couldn`t be easier thanks to a built in 1oz measuring reservoir. At a 1:100 concentrate, a single 8.5ozbottle will make 7 gallons of wiper fluid. As a tip, add 1Z KKWFC to water last since it has a tendency to foam up quickly.

Because my house has a well with a water conditioning + softener I choose to buy a gallon of distilled water to test with, however the mixing instructions only call for tap water. 1oz of 1Z makes 1 gallon of wiper fluid, so the jug of distilled water provided an ideal container to mix-up a batch in.

Before testing I thoroughly cleaned off the windscreen to make sure all road film, pollen, water spots, and prior bug splatter was removed. To make sure there was only 1Z KKWFC in my washer fluid reservoir I siphoned out the existing fluid. Blue stuff + orange stuff = green muck:

Armed with a clean windscreen and full wiper fluid tank of 1Z KK I set out on a 350mile drive.

Observations: For the most part 1Z did keep the windshield clear, it did not leave any streaks or residue. The wiper blades did chatter across the windshield a few times while at highway speed. Like most 1Z products, KKWFC has a slight citrus odor which enters the cabin when applied. It`s not an offensive smell in anyway, but noticeable.

At $8.99 for a bottle or $1.24 per gallon once mixed,
1Z Einszett Kristall Klar Washer Fluid Concentrate offers a very economical option over the store bought blue stuff. What`s more, if your traveling keeping a bottle of this with you provides an easy refill option - just buy a gallon of water and mix.

All in all a great product.

Thanks for the write-up! I have been considering this product for some time. I like the idea of traveling with the concentrate and mixing when needed.

Agreed on all fronts. Excellent review. Having some handy always helped in the winter months back in my New York/Boston days.

Great review. I believe this product is not a booster but rather windshield washer fluid concentrate. It is nice having 7 gallons of washer fluid in 8oz. Have you used the 1Z Einszett Anti-frost Washer Fluid before?

You bet, Spiralout! Keeping a bottle of Kristall Klar and mixing whenever needed is such an nice option. Additionally you could use it at full strength applied to a folded paper towel to power off any spots the blades are able to completely remove. I`m picking up a bottle for a buddy of mine who`s about to drive from here (Philly) to Seattle, then down to Vegas, and back.

Thanks! You`re right, this is a concentrate - the term booster is used as well in many product descriptions including Autopia`s. I haven`t tried 1Z Anti-frost yet but am planning on it come Nov/Dec. Looks like great stuff too!

Re: 1Z Einszett Windshield Wash Booster Review

As an update, after 2 weeks I`ve really come to appreciate how 1Z KK disappears from the corners of my windshield after use - it doesn`t leave any residue at all. In the past I`ve used P21s Windshield Washer Booster to help power off summer time bug jerky and although it works - P21S does streak, leaves a film behind, and tends to make the blue stuff freeze in the winter.

Just wanted to say thanks for this review. I bought the product on my last order and gave it a try. I used up all the fluid in my Fiat. I was surprised still how mush it holds! I mixed the 1Z per the instructions in a gallon jug of distiller water. It works so much better than the previous product! The windshield gets much cleaner now and with far less residue on the car.

Excellent! I`m happy to hear review was helpful. 1Z WWB is great stuff, a single bottle will last forever.

I`m looking forward to trying 1Z Einszett Anti-Frost Wash Fluid Concentrate once the weather turns cold.

I think you`ll like it even better. Seems to clean even better and is just as steak free.
The only reason I bother to switch over to Kristall Klar in the summer is cost.

    I see auto-correct got you. Anti-Front.
The devil made me do it the first time.
The second time I done it on my own.
