Haha, sorry to be vague. I didn`t want to oversell the ease of use for this product. It is very easy to use, but I think DP is a little easier to spread.

Thanks! I thought it was only fair to put the two against eachother. And the new product is great, i think the deciding factor is what people like, shine or satin.

Dave, thanks as always for sharing an honest and very descriptive review!
Thank you Jim! I think you and I found out about the old stuff at the same time and were hooked. It`s too bad it is going away, but as I told you I`m stocked up on it now... BOGO FTW!

    One Month Update!

So it`s been a full month since I applied both the old and new BF tire dressings to my tire. Since then we have gotten rain, snow, sleet and salt all over the roads. It has been a true torture test for tire dressings. I`m happy to report that both dressings are going strong even after taking a beating from the elements!

The old dressing is on the bottom and the new is on the top. As you can see the old dressing is slightly darker, but even the new dressing is still hanging around and noticeably darker than the undressed section. Sorry for the low quality pics, I will get some better ones in the next couple days.

Here is just showing where the tape line is. Kinda hard to find on the low quality pics without pointing it out.

And here is the full picture.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the update but if there ever was a time to test durability this is the time of the year to do it. Two weeks of sunny 80 degree weather doesn`t really test anything.

Does it say anything about layering?

Did you layer to see if it increases shine?

    How is the durability?

How easy did it spread? My favorite gel is DP, mainly because it spreads so easy, even into the ribbing in the sidewall many new tires have.

    Thanks
BLACKFIRE Total Eclipse Tire Gel (and Shine Spray) can be layered for additional gloss. It will create a wetter, glossier appearance with two coats and perhaps longer durability.

As far as durability, it will hold up to several washes and should be good for a few weeks at a minimum. On my old tires it still looked nice after a month, on the new ones about 3 weeks, so results will vary on how the car is cared for and the type of rubber, but it is a serious contender (at the very least).

The durability of the new dressing is quite good. I am looking forward to the follow up, thanks for another excellent review Dave!
