Review: CarPro Tar X

With as impressed as I`ve been with most of the other products in CarPro`s line, I`m anxiously awaiting the availability of full-size bottles of Tar-X to add to my arsenal.

Only question the review didn`t answer for me was since they say this stuff glows in the dark... is it like a nite-lite when left in the garage?

Oh, I had some seriously cool stuff planned for the glow n the dark part for my review, lol, trust me... but alas no glow in the dark. It glows in the light though, which is when we are detailing! I talk about the glow in the dark in the conclusion and also in the ??? section.

Gum Removal: Tar X - Tarminator - Tarmalade


Well, I was asked about Tar X ability to remove gum so I conducted a test.
I applied 2 pieces of gum to the hood of my car and allowed them to bake in the florida sun for a day before spreading them further and allowing them to bake another 4 days in the Florida August Sun. I parked the car at work in an area where it wouldn`t receive any shade at any point of the day (except when clouds were overhead).

As I was about to conduct the actual removal test I realized I should have placed 3 pieces of gum since I wanted to test 3 products but hadn`t considered all 3 products 5 days earlier. I attempted to split the second test spot which compromises the Tarminator testing a little.

Hi guys, just wanted to give you a heads up. I allowed some TarX to start to dry on a headlight (which it specifically says not to do) and I got a white stain. I can polish it out no problem but just wanted to tell you guys to not allow the product to dry at all on plastics.

Well, unfortunately I botched the tarminator test by trying to split one of the test spots into two pieces. It did work very well on that edge area but I`m unhappy with my "botching"since we didn`t get to see if the stoners would cut through the thick areas. Don`t tell my car but I am going to have to put him through another gum test with a dedicated spot for the tarminator. Shhh

Oh, btw.. I was able to remove that stain on the headlight without polishing
