    Optimum Tire Shine (New Formula)

A couple of months ago I won a bottle of Optimum Tire Shine (new formula) in an Optimum promtion and finally got around to trying it out and doing a review.(Sorry it took so long Chris lol). After a nice wash on my Toyota 4Runner I broke out the Optimum Tire Shine.

I was never really a fan on the older version of Optimum Tire Shine. I found that it left a very matte finish and didn`t last very long.

Here are some pictures of the new Optimum Tire Shine. It is clearly more glossy than that older version. Personally I prefer a glossy dressing as opposed to a matte one). I will report back in this thread to see how the dressing holds up to rain etc over the next few days. So far I like the look and the ease of use.

Nice look. Personally I like a little more gloss than that.

Garry...I will have to see if adding another coat would bring up the gloss. Trust me it`s glossy. There is no sun in this pic so it looks somewhat dulled.

If it is like Optimum Tire Bond Gel I have, I would call it black wet so glossy in a way for a few days.

I am not sure why the pictures aren`t working. They are uploaded in the Autopia Forums Gallery.

Looks nice but a little shiny for my liking. Some of my clients like that look so I may get some. Pat, how did/do you find it to do durability wise?

Durability is half decent. It seems to be a water based dressing. I can tell you that it is much more shiny than the original version was.

Re: Optimum Tire Shine (New Formula)

I use this dressing for my own tires and it lasts a couple weeks .
My own tires it applies beautifully .Does not sling either.

Some tires it doesnt take well and Ive had trouble with it and had to add 2 or even 3 applications because it just sucks up the product .Then the price of it doubles and triples. Wonder what causes this

Because of this I save it for my premium jobs!

But I really like it otherwise.

Heres a pic of a truck I found , tires with Optimum tire shine . This took 3 applications to get a uniform gloss. As you can see they are pretty shiney! It looks very much like a solvent dressing but its not. Sorry i dont have any close ups.

Re: Optimum Tire Shine (New Formula)

For tires that soak it up spray it directly on the tire and let it dry, then smooth it out before delivery. For less shine, dilute 1:1 with water and shake before using.
