1Z Einszett Rubber Care Stick Gummi Pflege Review

1Z Einszett Gummi Pflege Stick is long-lasting protection for all types of rubber seals and trim. It prevents freezing in cold weather and drying in hot weather. The Gummi Pflege Stick keeps rubber seals elastic and like new. It brightens and refreshes color, too. Excellent UV protection inhibitors protect exterior rubber from harmful exposure to the sun.

Here was another great opportunity to try another fantastic 1Z product. This was the Gummi Pflege, or Rubber Care stick. Being that summer is approaching, I`m seeing that more and more customers are inquiring about a product that does exactly what the Rubber Care Stick does. Very simple to use, and quite effective. Take a look below.

As you see here, this weather seal was in dire need of some attention

Before application, spend a few seconds shaking up the bottle so the ingredients are ready to prep the applicator.

Typically, I`ll apply pressure to the applicator so the sponge gets prepped. You`ll feel a plastic tab that can be pressed to prep the pad.

This comes in a shoe polish type applicator, it couldn`t get any easier!

Apply even pressure and slide the applicator up the weather stripping. Do small sections at a time to ensure the stripping gets a complete, even coat.

You can see here that we`re applying just enough pressure to have the product properly coat the rubber weather strip.

Make sure you get both sides of the weather seal. You don`t want one side more conditioned than the other. When that happens, the dry side can steal some of the moisture from the conditioned side.

You can see it leaves an nice, natural, matte finish. Looks much healthier than it did before.

This is what your applicator may look like after usage on a neglected weather seal.

Overall this product definitely gets an A in my book. Simple to use and as effective as you need it to be. It`s perfect all year round to help avoid your seals from freezing in the winter, and from drying up in the summer.

Next time try and clean the weather strip before applying it. Its nice seeing those results directly from the stick. Its amazing how that little bit of product makes those seals stay nice and fresh.

You could clean it before hand, but if you use and alcohol based product, it could dry it out a bit more. That`s the good thing about this Rubber Care stick; it cleans and offers protection!

Perhaps doing some water based cleaning beforehand could prevent the applicator from getting as soiled as mine did.

First, I really like the Gummi Pflege stick for its ease of use and performance.
Second, I always clean first, especially on material that is as dirty as that appears. Third, speaking based on 1Z`s marketing and not on my own experience, this product doesn`t appear to be targeted as a cleaner and conditioner, but rather the latter.

Yeah John, I did find Gummi Pflege to clean the rubber a little, I always clean seals and rubber well before using Gummi Pflege. The first Gummi I got from 1Z I had issues with the applicator becoming clogged and soiled so I always clean seals and rubber first.

Although it may not be targeted to be a primary cleaner, you can see that it did do some cleaning to the seals as they were treated.

I agree that to obtain a more durable result, prepping with a cleaner that isn`t alcohol based is probably a good idea.

A damp (water) paper towel will do some cleaning. But then that isn`t the kind of work we promote here.

Besides now you need to try and clean up that applicator so you don`t transfer any of that grime to your next project.

If there is such a concern about alcohol drying out the rubber, why is it (alcohol) recommended by "most" (supplied by some) windshield wiper manufacturers for cleaning wiper rubber?

Just curious.

I personally think it evaporates too soon to do any harm to rubber. And since you`re going to dress it, the dressing should eliminate any future drying.

I apply Sil-Glyde with a shoe polish applicator.

I recently picked up some Gummi Pledge and just used it for the first time. I love it !

It left all of my rubber seals perfect with no greasy feel.

It will have a permanent place in my detailing arsenal.

Nice review John. I currently am using Megs #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner / Conditioner. It cleans well and leaves a nice finish as well. But I don`t like how messy it can be at time to use. The 1Z rubber stick seems like it could be a very good option to replace my Megs when it is gone.
