Today was the first time since i own my car that it was so filthy dirty when I washed it. I have not washed the car in 4 weeks! last time was 3rd week in July. I am having some work done on the front of my house and it has prevented me from using the hose. I had contemplated using the self serve a few towns away but I never made it. Got out of work yesterday to find someone had written "clean me" on my window thankfully! It it was the paint I would be polishing and doing my best CSI impression to catch the person and cut that finger off!
I did discover a few things:
1. My wheels don't throw off too much brake dust. they were dirty but not black
2. Ultima UPGP did a better than good job sealing the wheels. First time I tried it on wheels. No
P21S needed, just soap and sponges/brushes.
3. My car was never dirty B4. Dusty maybe, but not dirty. I had to change the rinse water several times as it was black. Never had that experience.
4. I got home late from work, and did the wheels and paintwork. I need to go back and detail it. I had diner plans so i did not hit the wheel wells and exhaust tips or the interior at all.
5.I had my 12 yr old help. He was rinsing each panel as I was washing. No fear of wash induced swirls there. I did get soaked and he loves to help and soak me. It actually worked out because he got so see the process and ask questions and the finish was safe. Plus he loved soaking me
