Griots on HSC/QVC - 02-02-2010, 08:44 AM

I woke up Sunday morning, turned on the tube and there it was.... Griots Spray Wax. I am assuming it was the man himself, using the spray wax on a black BMW I believe. I was a little surprised, as generally the detailing stuff they have on there is a little questionable. Then again, I don't really see a lot of this channel, I just happened to see the Griots product as I was flippin' thru and decided to stop and watch.

I don't believe in grit guards.

So, what were they selling? Just the spray wax or some type of product "package"? Did they sell out? (That ? may be way off base, just thinking I've seen some kind of sales show where they have so many minutes left and only x number of products remaining). It is interesting to see a real detail product appear on, what I guess is a mainstream program.

I have also seen this stuff on the home shopping channels. As I recall the guy doing the demos was kind of flaky.

It was a 32 ounce sprayer of spray wax, a gallon refill, and a couple of microfibers I believe. I don't know how many they were selling - I don't recall a counter or anything.

If I am not mistaken, the guy doing the demo was Mr. Griot, but I could be mistaken as all I know of him is pictures on the internet. And I was comparing those in my head with the live shot.

FWIW, it looked like he was using too much product, as it appeared to be streaking on the black paint. However, that could be either my unfamiliarity with that product or that he kept on working on the hood over and over during the segment to show how it worked.
