Peanut Oil?

On another forum a guy was using peanut oil on the the lower plastic trim on a range rover. This was for dressing the plastics not removing old wax.

I know that it will work but wondered what the overall effects where on the plastic once it rains or water comes in contact. I would have to think that it runs some what, and would leave marks where the water dripped down the sides of the rover.

Anyone?

Did he say if when he parks it the dogs lick on the car or cock their leg.
I never tried using it for wax removal.
I have Duragloss wax remover it works great but I have no need for it anymore I moved into the 20 century and stopped using wax.

No but I did ask if the bees chase after the car

True story when I was field test PB BH it was in the late summer and as I applied it, there was a million fruit flies landing on the car

I tried to get pics but they would not show up in the pics all that well

I was thinking last night that IF peanut oil works on plastic auto trim then any cooking oil or non-colored oil would work?

What I'm wondering is the effects on the plastic over time and how it adheres to the plastic when water comes in contact.

Lastly oil doesn't dry so that means that it would become a dust magnetic

Never used peanut oil or peanut butter for this purpose, so I can't speak to the efficacy. But, I do think that for those who do use either, that they wash the product off after it has (or has not) done its job. That would seem to render mute your concerns.
