Lightbulb Opti-seal over 845 - 12-15-2009, 08:58 AM

I have 2 coats "845"as my winter wax on 3 vehicles as of now. After reading some earlier posts on the opti-seal I am gonna try this product over the 845. I have not applied anything in about a month on any of the vehicle surfaces.

The paint is still beading fine but the salt and slop are starting in around here now. I was just going to try the opti-seal route because of the ease of application at this point. Longevity is not the most important factor just time and shine at this stage of the game.

I also will try and use more 845 in the next week or so just for added protection from the heavy concentrations of road salt.

I am sure others are testing there finishes with old man winter as of late. How are your finishes holding up under the nasty conditions?

My use of OS over wax is pretty much limited to using it over Poli-Seal.
Poli-Seal does leave wax and the combination seems to work great.
It has been said that OS will "migrate" through a carnauba and still bond to the paint.
I have no idea how that works, but I think 845 is carnauba based and I would think applying the OS over it should be fine.

If you are in doubt, try using the OS on just one vehicle and see how that turns out.
