Yeah, my wife is from the Lone Star State. Otherwise a very intelligent woman and productive citizen, she uses the phrase "used to could" frequently, meaning "previously able to." Of course, I ridicule her unmercifully.

A Yankee myself, I lived in the South for ten years before I figured out that "liked to have" means "almost."

Seriously, the thread has convinced me to go with the Ez-UP brand. I need one real bad...ly.

I just bought a EZ-UP brand, 12'x14' gable style top with stakes and a nice roller bag at K-mart for $109. I set it up and tore it down tonight all by myself with very little trouble. This canopy is regularly $139. and I do not know how long the sale is good for but I would think that $139. would even be a good price for this canopy

I've seen that tent Dave ..it may have the EZ-UP name but it isn't the quality that it should be
if you look at the link by Deanski, you'll see that most of their tents are $300+ ...the BJ's one, which is the lowest of their line, but still commercial grade is $200 only because they buy a few thousand of them

If it's an EZ-UP that is a good deal. I just bought a 12'x12' Quick Shade from Sears for $100. Built to be light weight and easy to manage. We'll see about durability.

Re: POP Up Tent - 07-06-2009, 01:02 PM

My tent is also a Quik Shade, 10x10, slant legs. I think I remember purchasing it last Summer. I got a real nice deal via price match and a coupon. The rolling storage bag looks to be of good quality as does the frame/cover materials. At the time of purchase I picked up some "leg" weights which I've only used a couple of times.

just do some home work before you buy your pop-up or ez-up tent... there are some models that have CHEEP hinges and fold up wrong and break real easy..

Poorboy steve has both types but 1 of them is fragile and a P.I.A. to do by your self.. the folding arms and how they hing is were you want to be concerned... Harder, Faster, Stronger, Beter.. can't find good on-line photos examples to show you what i'm talking about.

Good Luck

Re: POP Up Tent - 07-07-2009, 07:18 PM

I had no idea Eureka made portable canopies. I will say that my Eureka tents have all been top notch products. Easy to use and quality materials. No reason to think this product would be any different.

Some of the EZ-UP pricing is pretty questionable in my mind as far as value and ROI. I seriously doubt that their materials are that far superior to those used by other manufacturers.

Actually they are. Their more expensive tents are built to last but they are also quite a bit heavier do to the sturdier structure and stronger materials used. I've had lots of tents and the EZ-UP was the best made tent. I just didn't like how heavy it was.

even if it lasts 2 years it is good for me, We will see after using it for the rest of the season. I know one thing for sure and that is that it really is easy to put up and no more working in the derect sunlight. somedays it gets so hot that I would work under trash bags on a string if I had them. So I will let you all know how it lasts for me Thanks, TD
