removing light swirls from my dg coupe

hey whats up guys i have some light sirls id like to get rid of on my g35 coupe. i have a few questions i have quite a bit of wax ont the car. 2 remove the wax and stuff can i use a cleaner wax by mothers to prep the surface for me to use meguiers swirlx swirl remover?? then add a coat of megs nxt tech wax??? i have already clayed the car 2weeks ago as well. plz help.

That's not going to be a good choice for prepping paint for a swirl remover. The claying is all that should be needed to prep the paint for swirl removal. So skip the cleaner wax and go right to the SwirlX followed by the NXT.

Wash car with DAWN. Then clay car,and that will remove old wax.

The clay removes the wax but if you still feel the need to clean the paint further then it would be better to hit each panel twice with the SwirlX then to use the cleaner wax.

If your goal is to have a wax free surface for your SwirlX then why would you want to use the cleaner wax? The cleaner wax is meant to be a one-step product, not a first step in a three step process.

oh ok so ill just clay my car agian, then how many coats should i apply of the megs swirlx??? and can you layer megs tech wax??? thanks for your help

Well you're not coating the surface when you apply Swirlx. you are polishing the surface to remove swirls and other light defects. If your asking how many passes will it take to remove the swirls then I can't answer you. Best way to know is to try a spot. See what it does after one or two passes. If it isn't doing what you are wanting then you need to get a more aggressive polish like their Ultimate compound.

Are you working by hand or do you have a machine?

Layering Tech wax.... The short answer is no, but two applications will give you a better chance of making sure there is a good uniform layer there.
