Foaming Clay Lube - 09-08-2008, 03:44 PM

Has anyone put their clay lube in a foaming sprayer before?

A few weeks ago I dropped by bottle of lube (better the lube than the clay ), which was nearly empty and for some reason the sudsy lube made claying a lot easier. It seemed to cover the surface better and it wasn't too wet or too dry, which can be hit or miss with some QDs or lube solutions. It wasn't a thick suds like a car wash but enough for the clay to glide effortlessly over the paint. I was quite surprised how well the claying went, I'll have to try it in a foaming trigger sprayer next time around and see which products work best with this technique. The product that I was using was the Clay Magic lube...

FWIW, I am not a fan of claying during the wash, per se. I like to use a dedicated lube instead of using suds from a bucket and mitt. I usually clay while the car is air drying and then fully dry the car after claying. Anyways, I figured I'd pass my findings along to see if anyone else has any opinions or experience with it .

my question would be if you have a lot of suds, how do you see where you are claying, and part b would be if you have to wipe off the area to see how it is, would you not be wasting a lot of product

Valid points... maybe suds was the wrong word, rather an agitated solution, or a QD with small bubbles (kind of like suds).
