Nattys on 21 year old Paint - 08-18-2008, 09:34 PM

This last weekend I pulled out the Camaro to give it the yearly cleaning that she gets. I decided to try some Nattys Red to see what it would be like on a Lacquer paint job.
I put a whole coat of Nattys red on and let it sit all day, at first I was not wowed with the results as I was with my Black truck, but later that day I used some PB's QD+ on the Chrome and accidentally got some on the paint, after I buffed the area off I was amazed how wet the paint looked, I ended up going over the whole car and the results were wonderful.
The whole process really woke up this 21 year old paint.

A little history on this car..................bear with me, Ill get to paint in a sec......,

I bought this car when I was 17 to restore and sell, at the time I was dating my wife and she was talking that she would love a Hugger Orange Camaro, now she had no idea that I had this car, so knowing that I decided to restore it with the colors that she wanted and give it to her for her 18th B-day.

Originally the car was all blue. I painted it with the SS Style stripes with several coats of Hugger Orange Laquer, topped with a few coats of clear. It was quite a job and took close to 6 months to complete. Needless to say she was surprised when I gave it to her.

Beautiful car, Robert! May we see the whole thing, or are you just teasing us?

I used Natty's Red for the first time recently... I'm a believer.

Wow that paint looks amazing for that age.

I like beer. On occasion I will even drink a beer to celebrate a major event such as the fall of communism or the fact that our refrigerator is still working.

Thanks guys, and yes Rabbi's request is hard to pass up with that avatar

Ill have to get some more pics for you guys, the garage is a little tight on space right now so getting around it is a challenge. Im redoing our kitchen and the garage is full of fixtures etc. Here is an older pic of it when we had it at a show years ago.

Here is a little peek-a-boo of another car that I have waiting to be restored.....

Its a 68 Mustang GT California Special.
