That "clay block" seems dangerous to me. The manufacturer in the Orient approached me with it a while back. I was a little afraid to use it because it seems to me that it retains debris and you can't fold it and use a clean area like clay. Sometimes it's not always best to reinvent the wheel so to speak. Although for all I know it's fine, I just never tried it. My Magic Cube is very mild and isn't meant to totally replace clay.
I was once told by a clay manufacturer in California that one particular type of modeling clay is absolutely no different than detailing clay except for some lubricant added. The manufacturing process is identical. I keep meaning to ask him for a sample of the clay he is taking about. Apparently it can sell for about 1/4 the price of detailing clay.
