Re: Homemade Clay Lube Anyone? - 10-09-2007, 09:36 AM

I use the water and soap mix just don't add too much soap no more than a half ounce because it seems like there is so much lubricity that you can't tell that the claybar is picking up dirt in some areas. Then you have to go over it again. I like PB's Super Slick and Suds along the line of 1/4 ounce since it is so concentrated. Steve gave me this idea when I ran out of S&W. Great alternative to a QD.

Picked up a few small transparent spray bottles from the dollar store. I just fill one up with car soap before starting to wash the car and use that as lube. I have never used a QD for this purpose i think its a waste of money.

Don't waste QD on claying. I mix car wash and water in a spray bottle. Never had a problem. On washing the car I never use a bucket. I use the same spray bottle and microfiber mit, spray mit, wash a section, rinse mit and repeat. Worked great for me for many years.
