Depending on what I am doing I use PB Pro-Polish for removing scratches or some swirls.....it seems to really clean the surface and gives a good prep for the next step....which is P-w-C


I use PB P-w-C on all cars for shinning up the car after swirl removal and that sets up the finish for the glaze that I like to lay down.

I find that with a rotary and P-w-C that I can do about anything with this product....its not failed me yet

I think that it is because there are so many polishes. There are polishes that are for the rotary, PC, hand, some are chemical and abrasive, most are different abrasives, some are better for compounding where others are final polishes, some work best with certain pads, etc. As of right now, I use Poorboys (SSRs and PwC) with the PC and Optimum (Compound and polish) with the rotary and...well... no polishes by hand.

I think that megs colourX has both a chemical abrasive and a diminishing abrasive

but megs DC1 is my chemical and M80 is my marr removal

Although I like the Menzerna line of abrassive product alot, they are expensive to purchase if you can get a hold of the good products.

Klasse AIO used to be my go to polish for chemical cleaner but have since been won over by ProPolish from Poorboy's because it can do more than chemically clean the paint. I like the options that it gives me.

Poorboy's really offers me polishing products, like the SSR line. that work well with my ability of taking care of my vehicles.

Just like Beemerboy, the Poorboy's line of products have not failed me yet.

That would be news to me, as I have never seen it mentioned on the bottle or heard anyone else say anything about it. It's usually classified in the same family as Klasse AIO & Poorboy's ProPolish (and FWIW, Steve has mentioned that PP does have some type of abrasives in it). From personal experience, it doesn't do much in the area of marr removal. It would be nice to know for sure, and not just specualte.

I would recommend that you outline the basic criteria of your needs.

This will help folks offer recommendations.

I'm sure my needs are a bit different than others.

I'll use myself as an example:

-I don't mind ordering products from vendors/manufactures.

-I want products that are easy to work with, and give consistent results (for the most part) across most any manufacturers paint finish.

-I don't mind paying premium prices for a product that consistently performs well.

-I prefer products that don't produce excessive dust, and don't stain.

-I want products designed for machine application.

-I like versatile products. For example, and SMR that can also be used as a finishing polish.

-MOST importantly, I want a product that works well for *me*.

-etc.... I have additional criteria, but don't want to write a book.

Most polishes (and products) work well if you follow the directions.

Based on my criteria, the polishes that I use (currently) are
Menzerna, and Optimum. Occasionally I'll use AIO or VM as a chemical cleaner.

OE, Rapide and Ultimate glaze all from surf-ACE. PO85U, S34A, PO91L and PO85RD from Menzerna.
